United States of Hardcore
After a string of floor thrashers Scott Brown and the Evolution team came out with a suprisingly subdued record aimed for massive appeal. The first track is the ridiculously dreamy Plus System remake of Memories of Love. Soft baseline, heavily washed synths, hell even the piano is dry. Not even the cheesiest version I've heard but certainly the lamest. Unless you have insomnia just buy the original. Serial Killer is the "dark" track of the two but still very toned down compared to a lot of Evolution stuff. Not bursting with originality but definitely the more solid track on the disc. The song starts with some nice sprinked synths etched in the background followed by the popular "use the American rapper" breakdown...at least it wasn't Redman again (it was X-ibit). Simple, trance-y syths follow and so does boredom.
